Be Kind to Animals Kid

Contest is Now Open for Nominations


WHO:

The American Humane Association is officially seeking nominations for its 1998 Be Kind To Animals Kid Contest.

WHAT:

The Be Kind To Animals Kid Contest is for kids between the ages of six and 13, who in the past year, have done something extraordinary for animals. To be nominated, an adult must submit a 200 word essay describing why the child should be the next Be Kind To Animals Kid. If the adult nominating the child is other than the child's parent, parental approval must be given.

All nominations must be postmarked by March 15, 1998.

WHY:

In a day and age when so much publicity targets troubled young people committing acts of violence, AHA sponsors this contest to catch and honor kids for doing wonderful things for animals. The Be Kind To Animals Kid Contest is held each year as a highlight of Be Kind To Animals Week (May 3 - 9 1998). The national winner of the Be Kind To Animals Kid Contest and a chaperone will win a three-day trip to Hollywood to visit animal actors on the set of a television or movie production. Five national finalists will also win prizes which will be announced in the coming months.
